Watch local teams in soccer’s Champion of Champions quarters
There is an opportunity to watch local teams play in the quarter finals of the NSW Champion of Champions knockout on the next two Sundays.
Soccer’s champion of champions is played between the top teams in each grade from the various associations across NSW. After the first two rounds in the knockout tournament, the Sutherland Association has twelve teams still alive in the tournament. The competitions now go into the quarter final stage on Sunday October 7 and October 14.
On October 7, four games will be played locally, two not far up the road at Rockdale, one at Warilla in the Illawarra and two somewhat further away. On Sunday October 14 the Under 10 and Under 11 teams will also play their games locally.
The Harrie Dening Centre in Bates Drive, Kareela will be the venue for four of Sutherland teams’ matches on October 7. These are:
Under 12 Women: Bosco v East Bankstown at 11am
Under 15: Menai Hawks v Bexley North Bombers at 9.30am
Under 17: Sylvania Heights v Arncliffe Aurora at 2.30pm
Under 18 Women: Bosco v Avalon at 12.30pm
Other games played by Sutherland teams on October 7 are:
Under 14: Lilli Pilli v Arncliffe Aurora at 11.30am, Rockdale Sports Centre
Under 14 Women: Bosco v Bellambi at Morley Park, Warilla
Under 21: Lilli Pilli v Doonside Hawks at 1pm, Francis Park Blacktown
All Age Men: Menai Hawks v Sans Souci at 2.30pm, Rockdale Sports Centre
All Age Women: North Sutherland v Eurobodalla at 10am, Gundary Oval
The Under 10 and 11 matches on Sunday October 14 will also be played at Harrie Dening Centre. They are:
Under 10: Miranda Magpies v Carrs Park at 9.30am
Under 11: Barden Ridgebacks v Peakhurst United at 11am
Junior Cricket Representative Teams
The Sutherland Shire Junior Cricket Association has announced the Representative Cricket Teams for 2007/08 to Play in the NSW Districts Cricket Inter-Association Competition.
The teams from Under 11s to 16s will play the preliminary rounds on five Sundays between November 4 and December 9. The semi-final and final series will be played in early 2008. The teams are a follows:

Sutherland Basketball Association has announced the dates for its representative squad trials. They are:
Under 18s: Saturday 3 November, 12.30pm – 2.30pm; Sunday 11 November, 9am – 11am; Saturday 8 December, 12 – 2pm.
Under 16s: Saturday 3 November, 2.30pm – 4.30pm; Saturday 10 November, time to be confirmed; Saturday 8 December 2pm – 4pm
Under 14s: Sunday 4 November, 11am – 1pm; Saturday 10 November, 2pm – 4pm; Sunday 9 December, 8.30am – 10.30am
Under 12s: Sunday 4 November, 9am – 11am; Sunday 11 November, 2pm – 4pm; Sunday 9 December, 1pm – 3pm
