The Illawarra Innovation Showcase will be staged in May for the ninth year as part of the Australian Innovation Festival. Many activities are planned by various organisations over the coming weeks. Members of the public are invited to attend this free demonstration of what the Illawarra is capable of achieving.

The Science Centre houses one of Australia's few planetaria, the ultimate tool for visualising the Universe. However other branches of science and entertainment are also benefiting from exciting visualisation in even more spectacular ways. The Science Centre is using visualisation to demonstrate nanotechnology and is about to open a stereo theatre which will be an exciting attraction. It will provide benefits for the region's industries and tourist attractions.
