Haber and Vernon lead way in Sutherland to Surf run

While the emphasis was on fun and fitness Anthony Haber led the way for the men while Melinda Vernon was the quickest female.
Sharks’ 16 team undefeated going into soccer play-offs
In an astonishing performance, the Sutherland Sharks under 16 Premier Youth League team has finished the preliminary rounds of the competition without losing a game – winning 16 and drawing 6 games. As the first placed team it earns a rest while the 2nd and 3rd teams battle out the qualifying final and the 4th and 5th teams fight to avoid elimination. The Sharks will play the winner of the qualifying final between Apia Leichhardt and Manly.
The Sharks’ 15s came second and are in the qualifying final against 3rd team Sydney Olympic. The Sharks’ 18s are also in the qualifying final, having finished 3rd and will play the 2nd placed South Coast Wolves. The Sharks’ 14s are in the play-offs in either 4th or 5th place with their opponents yet to be decided – with two games outstanding in the competition. The Sharks’ 13s just missed out in finishing 6th in their competition.

The Sutherland Sharks men’s Waratah Basketball team have qualified 6th and take on the first placed Canberra Nationals in the first round of the final series on August 7 in Canberra.
