Seeing Stars for the Month of September 2010

NEW MOON at 15 VIRGO 41 on 8th SEPTEMBER at 8:30pm AEST

VIRGO
The New Moon in your sign on the 8th (see New Moon report) can help you establish routines that can lead to a healthier, happier self. By making a conscious decision to better organise and incorporate a dietary and exercise schedule into your lifestyle the happier and more productive you will become. Do all the planning now but do not implement till after the 13th when Mercury goes direct otherwise you may quickly lose the impetus.

LIBRA
Relationships may heat up after the 9th as Venus moves into the passionate sign of Scorpio. No longer willing to keep the peace at any cost or stick to the status quo there is more of a need to get to the bottom of any tension without being apprehensive about hurting feelings. Issues may become complicated but ‘no pain, no gain’ applies if a satisfactory conclusion is wanted. Can also stagnate of course if things are too hard.

SCORPIO
As well as Mars joining Venus mid month we also see the alignment of Pluto to the rational and productive Mercury in Virgo. Leave no rock unturned when dissecting shadowy issues, as it is possible to manage complex affairs by taking a much deeper look. There is a lot of strength and concentration under these planetary movements but as always wait till Mercury goes direct on the 13th before putting plans into action.

SAGITTARIUS
Be careful you don’t cross the boundaries of good taste and what is socially acceptable, as you may not have appraised the situation carefully enough. Don’t fall into the trap of judging a book by its cover, as appearances can be misleading with negative judgments made in the spur of the moment having repercussions that may be blown out of all proportion later in the month. .

CAPRICORN
With Saturn squaring off to the nodal axis all month you may find yourself experiencing some difficulties within your associations or partnerships. This makes you (or them) feel a trifle unco-operative and the situation becomes increasingly tense. You may need to shift your perspective and direction as the issues or views involved are deeply entrenched and require diplomatic negotiations.

AQUARIUS
Known for your humanitarian outlook and progressive thinking you are still a fixed sign that can at times make you respond with stubbornness or blind zealousness that is quite obstinate. The Full Moon on the 23rd is strongly placed for you and you would do well not to take a rigid stance on any matter but rather bend like a palm tree in a storm adjusting to the force of nature.

PISCES
The continuing conjunction of Chiron (representing unhealable wounding) and Neptune (spiritual longings) in Aquarius hook up with the lovers Venus and Mars first in Libra and then in Scorpio. Maintaining these connections till mid month there could be a strong desire for unity, slipping back into self destructive behaviour until taking hold and owning the strength within that can draw us out of the never- never land.

ARIES
First half of the month sees your ruling planet Mars in Libra, the sign that likes to find the balance by negotiating and consulting but the gloves are off by mid month when entering his co rulership sign of Scorpio. Unafraid of getting his hands dirty there is now a desire to drive through obstacles and when we see the Full Moon in your sign (see Full Moon report) self interest should not be paramount.

TAURUS
A lack of will power may have you taking the easy way out or the path of least resistance but don’t get too comfortable as your ruling planet moves into the passionate sign of Scorpio by the second week. An uncomfortable link up with the unpredictable Uranus will soon shake you out of your complacency provoking sudden changes in your relationship and partnership area.

GEMINI
Mercury goes direct on the 13th and if you are tuning in to the cosmic forces you will continue to use this time to reflect and examine your personal and domestic life and evaluate whether your needs are being met. Issues that arise should be discuss and examined in light of what arises as towards the end of the month insight and the use of sound common sense gives you a more optimistic outlook.

CANCER
This months New Moon in Virgo (see New Moon report) falls in your solar third house of siblings, neighbours and education, representing a time of year when you acknowledge the need to never stop learning or investigating life’s possibilities. This is a fruitful time to consciously tune into all those daily tasks and undertakings and how order and calm can be better implemented into your daily environment.

LEO
Whist the Sun makes it annual transit through the sign of Virgo you become concerned with what holds value for you in life. Monetary concerns become paramount but if you find that attachment to material things seems to impede your spiritual progress with all the possessions in the world still leaving you with an inner emptiness then you may need to rebalance your life. Beware extravagance or impulse spending around 22nd.

There is a big difference between the two Mercury ruled signs of Gemini and Virgo. The Hermes archetype in the Air sign of Gemini is an extrovert, a Peter Pan who wants to soar and fears having his wings clipped. In Virgo we see the same free spirited planet but as an Earth sign, has more conservative tendencies preferring rewarding work, where with diligent attention to all the finer points become experts in their field.

A New Moon in Virgo can be seen as a timely reminder that helps stimulate the need for a practical, useful, tangible, concrete approach to a concept or procedure. Preferring to focus on one skill or task at a time efficiency is helped if time is allowed so as thoughts can be mulled over. Currently Mercury is strongly placed in this home sign of Virgo and is retrograde until the 13th of the month, something that happens around 3 times a year.

This is an extremely productive time for reappraisal or research and we also have a link up with the North Node in Capricorn, a point in the horoscope where the Moon crosses the earth’s orbital plane and which represents our soul or spiritual growth. This is on a personal as well as a collective level where we not only form a sense of responsibility with regard to others but also where we also need to establish clear and definite objectives in our own lives. The North Node also links with the dwarf planet Pluto making it a useful time to connect or seek association with those that can further aims or goals and who may be important in regards to the future.

Pluto, (think Underworld or subterranean), ends its yearly retrograde motion on September 13 so we have had five months in which to explore and own our shadow side. Perhaps this New Moon is about recognising where we are wasting time and effort, where in fact we are dysfunctional and taking the necessary steps towards resolving them. Virgo is able to bring order out of chaos and has the ability to see how things fit as long as we are not caught up with inconsequential details.

FULL MOON at 0 ARIES 15    on 23rd SEPTEMBER    at 7:17pm AEST

Just as we have reached that instant of balance when days and nights are of equal length so too the Aries Full Moon is all about realigning ourselves with our Libran need for equality and the necessary interdependence we all require to survive. Falling just after the spring equinox, one of the years four major gateways (a double whammy of power), here in the Southern Hemisphere, indicates we have reached yet another critical junction.

This can be a pivotal point needing courage, determination and the willingness to move through challenges as we discard all that is not in support of a more authentic lifestyle. By becoming aware that we are ‘all in this together’ we are able to move towards solutions that that can be personally as well as globally beneficial.

The continuing cardinal T-square involving Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto which has been in effect since Spring is also highlighted by this months Full Moon. With the Moon and Sun joining the fray positions can become quite volatile as we struggle with letting go and forging a new path with while still maintaining our integrity and honour.

The lovers of the zodiac, Venus and Mars, are conjoined in the passionate sign of Scorpio a position of great comfort to the warrior planet but a bit intense for the pleasure seeking goddess. Mates rates apply as the lovers are energised by the linked up with Pluto the other ruler of Scorpio as well as the North Node (see New Moon).

Given the complexity of the cardinal t-square where we are being challenged to broaden our perspective by overcoming our fears and ingrained dogma the Venus/Mars/Pluto connection encourages us to reach out towards a greater social environment. It stimulates the desire to reform us as well, providing enough motivation to actively pursue life’s opportunities from a more impersonal, detached perspective.

Is your current reality or role hindering your creative self-expression? How long since you have stepped outside the square and been challenged by the unknown?

COSMOS

Changes in planetary sign and movement this month include:

SUN: Ingress of the Sun into Libra, the seventh sign of the zodiac on September 23rd heralds the Spring Equinox here in the Southern Hemisphere. The cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn are aligned with the equinoxes and solstices a cosmic rhythm giving the seasons of the year.

MERCURY: Goes direct on the 13th after three weeks of retrograde movement and is still in its rulership of Virgo. This earth sign likes nothing better than dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s so for the next three weeks anything that needs doing that requires an eye for detail can be accomplished. Virgo is also a health sign so look into it.

VENUS: Relationships heat up as the love goddess moves into ardent Scorpio on the 9th . Not comfortable in this zealous sign our lady prefers to keep the peace rather than getting her hands dirty through exploring any underground issues.

MARS: This fiery planet joins Venus in Scorpio on the 15th and looks forward to his seven-week visit on his home turf. Will power is strong so too the survival instinct so if you need to go into battle try not to be too ruthless.

JUPITER: Goes retrograde moving back into the oceanic depths of Pisces extinguishing the forward drive of Aries until January 23rd 2011. The headlong rush now pauses yet again contemplating a more modest approach.

PLUTO: Goes direct on the 14th and whilst remaining in the responsibility driven sign of Capricorn till 2024 this generational dwarf planet reminds us that we can no longer ‘pass the buck’. Not only do we need to be accountable but others need to be held accountable also.
